One of two first African American males to receive Doctoral Degrees from Louisiana State University at Shreveport
Dr. Marvin Rainey made history in 2019 as one of the first African American males to receive a Doctoral Degree from Louisiana State University at Shreveport (LSUS).
His name is no stranger in the hallways of Midway Elementary Professional Development School, as he proudly led the school as Principal for several years. He made an impact both inside and out of the walls of the school before being promoted into a greater role within Caddo Parish School Board administration.
A graduate of North Caddo Magnet High School, his roots in the parish run deep, and his joy comes from seeing students excel and uplifting teachers to their highest potential. If you were to ask him how he does it, his bright smile would be followed by something like, “To God be the glory for things He has done; it is in Him that I live and serve.” His life and work are reflective of the God he serves.
Congratulations, Dr. Rainey, another Black History maker!
