African American women taking over the trucking industry

Shreveport, Louisiana— Earlier today, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Durham Transport Express, LLC. It’s Shreveport’s newest state-of-the-art transport center.

The transport is located at 7312 Trammel Drive and is family-owned and operated by African American females. The new facility will house the administrative office, a mechanical bay set up, and secured parking for commercial trucks, recreational vehicles, and buses. On-site will be a complete tire service for commercial trucks and a Commercial Driving Academy.

President Durham said, “I am excited about this endeavor because it’s been a lifelong dream for me. Opening the facility will enhance the local economy by providing new jobs in the industrial area.”

Additionally, the initial building will offer several office suites and a Commercial Driving Academy. Opening early next year, the academy will prepare ambitious students seeking to obtain a CDL, a requirement for a career in the trucking industry.
