BIENVILLE PARISH, La. – The body of a teen who went missing Tuesday after his boat overturned on Lake Bistineau has been recovered after a night of searching by first responders.
The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office says that deputies recovered a body from the lake just after 7 a.m. Wednesday. The Bossier Parish Coroner is currently on his way to the scene.
According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, two teenage boys were on a boat around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday when rough water currents caused the boat to overturn. Deputies say one teen was able to call for help and was rescued while the other teen went missing.
First responders from numerous local agencies and local citizens showed up Tuesday at the scene to help find the missing teen. The search continued through the night.
