Caddo Schools Looking for Next Class of Teachers

Caddo Parish Public Schools is hosting its next Ice Cream and Information event to inform the
public of pathways to becoming a certified teacher. The recruitment program will be held at 4:30
p.m. on March 20, 2023 at the Ridgewood Middle School Library.

Ice Cream and Information provides future educators with the scoop on opportunities to receive
a paid internship and teacher training through the Caddo Teaching Academy. CTA is an
innovative certification program that provides a fast-track, streamlined and practical approach to
job-embedded training with the objective of placing an effective teacher in every classroom.

“We are committed to our mission of preparing students for the future, developing the whole
child academically and socially in collaboration with families and the community,” said Dr.
Karen Peace, Teach Caddo Recruiter. “We are confident that there are men and women in our
community who are ready to answer the call to serve the children of Caddo Parish and make a
meaningful impact in their lives.”

Aspiring teachers are encouraged to register on Eventbrite to attend Ice Cream and Information.
Community partner, Red River Bank is sponsoring the ice cream for the recruitment initiative.
