Eleven finalist for Shreveport Fire Chief set to be interviewed by Mayor Perkins

Mayor Adrian Perkins will interview the finalists for the next City of Shreveport Fire Chief starting Thursday, March 3. The interview process is expected to take two weeks. 18 people applied for the job and took the civil service exam. All 18 met the minimum requirements for moving forward for consideration. That list was then narrowed down to
11 finalists.

“This appointment is extremely important in ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens and visitors and I guarantee we will select the right person for the job,” said Mayor Perkins.

The finalist that is selected will replace Chief Scott Wolverton, who announced his retirement last year after serving on the department for 28 years. Chief of Training John Lane was named Substitute Chief. At the time of his appointment Lane said that he did not intend to seek the position permanently.
