Kim Lumzy is a singer, songwriter, educator, business owner, mother, & mentor! At an early age, her family noticed that she had a great love for music & at the age of 7, she began taking piano lessons. Her passion for music grew & by 12 & throughout most of her life, began playing for churches in her area. Kim attended Grambling State University & majored in Elementary Education & also holds a Masters of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University.
Currently, Kim is a 2nd year Doctoral student at The University of Southern Mississippi with a concentration in Educational Administration (P-12). Kim is the very proud mother of Peyton Ryan Houston! In addition to educating today’s youth, Kim Lumzy has served as Minister of Music in ministries in the North Louisiana area for over 20 years. In 2013, Kim Lumzy founded the once 50 voice choir: Kim Lumzy & Chosen Generation. Her, along with the group, have shared the platform with National Recording Artists such as the legendary, Twinkie Clark, Leandria Johnson, James Fortune, Kathy Taylor, Todd Dulaney, Zacardi Cortez, & a plethora of others.
She is a Gospel Recording Artist with two singles entitled “Victory” & her latest project entitled, “Mighty God”. In 2018, Kim also founded Kim Lumzy Ministries, where she strives to build the Kingdom, through prayer, praise, & worship. You can often find her gathering worshippers through her organization: “From Hurt to Healing”! Many attest that through this ministry lives have changed. Kim intends to continue to embark on the journey of life and love, not just as another singer, but as an example of faith and love through music for the upbuilding of the Kingdom.
