Apostle David Gilliam and the Petersburg Impact Church hosted their 2nd Annual Helicopter Easter Egg Drop.  Now labeled as  Petersburg’s largest and most successful community event, more than two thousand turned out to hear great music, enjoy free food and watch the helicopter fly overhead before dropping  thousands of eggs, filled with candy and treats.  Once the drop was completed, children were allowed into the designated area with parents only a few steps behind.  In addition to the candy eggs, there were three golden eggs also among the prizes, that were worth $500 cash.

All of the family fun kicked off at 2:30pm on Resurrection Sunday across the street from Petersburg Impact Church, 630 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA.  Also in attendance and showing support were a few of Petersburg’s top brass including, Vice Mayor Darrin Hill, City Councilman, Howard Myers and Petersburg Chief of Police, Travis Christian.

“We are beyond excited to bring this community event back to Petersburg as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and embrace our community through celebrations inside and outside of the four walls of our sanctuary,” said Apostle Gilliam.  “I want to also thank the many volunteers from Petersburg Impact Church, Praise 104.7FM and the city of Petersburg for working with us, as we continue to pour back into the Petersburg Community.  To date, we have poured more than 2 million dollars into the Petersburg community.  It is our hope that we remind Petersburg that we are here for them and now a part of the community.
