Introducting Korean Soul……
The Seoul gospel ensemble, initially brought together by Sooyong Yoon, Seung Hyun Lee, and Jihwan Lee, and later joined by Youngjin Jang, forged a deep connection through their shared love for Gospel tunes, showcasing their melodic and harmonic creations on Instagram. Destiny intervened when Grammy Award-winning artist Donald Lawrence connected them with BeBe Winans, who was then seeking a group for his album. Despite initial disbelief, they collaborated on BeBe’s recording “Laughter: Just Like a Medicine. ” This moment encouraged BeBe’s visit to South Korea which solidified their mission, and with encouragement from BeBe and Ron Gillyard, they officially became “KOREAN SOUL.”
In the summer of 2019, they landed a pivotal moment when making their American TV debut on GMA’s offshoot “Strahan and Sara.” Despite the pandemic, they received a historic nomination in the 2020 NAACP Image Award, showcasing their resilience. In 2021, they sang at the Martin Luther King, Jr.
Commemorative Service and geared up for “America’s Got Talent, ” elevating them to further heights.
With hope and dreams, these four artists are poised to captivate the world.
