Louisiana Mayors and Governor attend bill signing at White House

On yesterday, President Joseph R. Biden signed into law the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. A bipartisan group of local, state, and federal elected officials throughout the country attended the signing ceremony. Amongst that group were Mayor LaToya Cantrell (New Orleans), Mayor-President Sharon Weston-Broome (Baton Rouge), Mayor Adrian Perkins (Shreveport), and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.

The legislation signed into law by the President will provide funding for the following:

  1. Repair and rebuild roads and bridges.
  2. Prepare more of our infrastructure for extreme weather events.
  3. Make high-speed internet affordable and available for every household in America.
  4. Deliver clean drinking water to every American.
