Public meeting to discuss sewer improvement projects in Pierremont Park area

The City of Shreveport and the Department of Water and Sewerage are preparing to begin two related sanitary sewer system improvement projects in the Pierremont Park area. A public meeting will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, to answer any questions residents may have. It‘s at 6 pm at the Querbes Park and Community Center located at 3500 Beverly Place.
During the project, people living in the immediate work areas may be notified to park their vehicles on the street. This is due to replacing the existing sanitary sewer lines passing across driveways. Residents shouldn‘t be asked to park in the street for more than 2 days, but this is highly dependent on weather and the contractor‘s ability to work. Any resident requiring special access to their home during construction should contact the Clean Water Shreveport Program office at (318) 673–6375 to make arrangements for temporary access. The contractor will provide notice at least 24 hours in advance of any work that prohibits access to a resident‘s driveway.
During the installation of the sanitary sewer system, there may be brief periods where access and thru traffic to select roadways will be blocked, but this should be limited to 1–2 hours. For these projects, the roads that will have construction within the roadway area are portions of East Ridge Drive, Brookmeade Drive, Querbes Drive, Drexel Drive, Gilbert Drive, Gilbert Berkshire Place. Additionally, roads that are intersecting or near the project vicinity can potentially be affected by construction–related traffic controls and detours.
Work is expected to begin as early as September 26, 2022 and take 18 months to complete.
These projects are made possible through the Clean Water Shreveport Water and Sewer Improvement Program.
