This beautiful love story details the genesis of an almost 35-year-old, grassroots organization that is now a beacon of hope for the city of Shreveport.

Verni Howard, Executive Director of Providence House shares, “We started the journey of capturing pieces of our oral history two years ago.  We quickly realized that the depth, breadth, and scope of Providence House encompasses everyone. The full story is critical to share, and we believe this documentary will serve as a great teaching tool for our whole community.”

“There are very few people in northwest Louisiana that have not been a part of the Providence House family in one way or another.  Whether it is donating through our green boxes, hosting a volunteer project, reading with our children in the child development center, participating in Sleep Out 4 Independence, adopting a family at Christmas time, or generously giving – this community is connected to Providence House,” said Jacob White, Board President. “Every act of kindness has changed the lives of homeless families with children and we are thankful.”
