Community Speaks with Al Moore

Al Moore grew up in Shreveport, LA. and graduated from Fair Park High School. After graduation he joined the US Navy and served 4 years. Al earned an Associate Degree in Communications from Southern University Shreveport.

Al Moore is the Executive Director of Christian Service Program of Shreveport and has been indispensable for its success. The mission of the Christian Service is to feed the hungry and those in need in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. Additionally, the program provides clothing and emergency assistance for to the homeless and those in need in the Shreveport/Bossier area. Under Mr. Moore’s leadership, the program provides 1,400 to 1,500 hot and nutritious meals a week and averages over 6,000 meals a month. Christian Service clients receive meals twice a day, every day with exception of Christmas Day. During the pandemic, Mr. Moore adapted seamlessly to distributing meals in in Styrofoam to-go plates with bottled water and/or canned drinks as no public entry into the building was allowed. With Mr. Moore at the helm, Christian Service continues in its vital role of feeding the hungry and has served more than three million meals since its founding in 1970. Also important to all non-profits, Mr. Moore has consistently excelled in achieving the mission of Christian Service while maintaining accountability of its financial objectives. He manages the day-to-day operations and carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Christian Service Board of Directors. He communicates effectively with the Board and provides them with all information necessary to function properly and to make informed decisions. He serves on the HR Board for the City of Shreveport. Al also officiates football in the CFO West which includes the Big 12, Mountain West and Southland Conference. Al is the CEO of Al Moore Enterprises LLC, a Graphic Media and Video Production Company. Continues to serve as voluntary Chairman of the Human Resources Board for the City of Shreveport. Currently hosts the Community Issue Program on KOKA Radio Station in Shreveport. Volunteers time and leadership to several Youth Camps in the Shreveport providing mentoring in service as a respected community leader. Officiates football in College Football in the CFO West which includes the Big 12, Mountain West and Southland Conference.
