Educator, mentor, and servant leader; Betenia Bolden is the founder of BOLDEN-en Statements and Empower-me. She works with individuals and organizations to amplify their communication, connection, and confidence so they can make an influential impact on the world.
As a Shreveport native and graduate of the historic Booker T. Washington High School, Betenia has a passion for serving her community. Her contribution as an Empowerment Facilitator continues to provide positive development opportunities for young youth and adults. She serves as a liaison for faith-based organizations in her community, with over fifteen years in education, and is a former advocate for Head Start Programs in Washington, DC. Betenia curates meaningful connections and helps others maximize their potential. She has a passion for developing people and providing training so that others can effectively do the same. She brings a track record of integrity, creativity, and love to every endeavor.
One of her significant decisions was when she accepted her commission to advocate for the kingdom of God and has since received her license as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God In Christ. She yields herself unselfishly to various ministry areas. Her leadership and servanthood extend to Louisiana’s Historic First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction in the Youth Department and Department of Women (Sunshine Band President). In August 2015, she was appointed to serve as State Youth Chairlady. Evangelist Bolden also served as Chairperson (advisor) of the IYD Southern Region Youth Advisory Council and, in 2022, was appointed to the Young Adult Ministry. She has a genuine love for Christ coupled with a real zeal to impact, motivate, encourage and inspire youth and young adults concerning the will of God for their life. Her concern for the welfare of all of humanity is at the center of her heartbeat for ministry.
Betenia holds an Associate of Science in Biology from Southern University. She earned a B.A. from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, LA, and is a 2014 graduate of the Shreveport Chapter of C.H. Mason Bible College.
“I call her Evangelist BB and know she has an anointing that deserves to be out front,” said director Charles Johnson. She’s got it, and I’m honored to be a part of the genesis of her radio career.”
Her mantra, ”You’ve got to see IT before you see IT,” confirms the truth impeded in Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he exists and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
