Virginia Union University kicks off Homecoming 2022 with Pop-Up Concert with award-winning gospel artists

Virginia Union University (VUU) kicked off their Homecoming 2022 with a Pre-Homecoming Pop-up Concert. The night of ministry took place on Friday, September 30, at 7 PM at Liberation Church in Richmond’s Southside. Hosted by the Hezekiah Walker Center for Gospel Music at VUU, the concert featured award winning gospel artists Hezekiah Walker, John P. Kee, Kierra Sheard Kelly, Lena Byrd Miles and James Fortune, and also Twyse and Estee Bullock.

Everyone who took center stage delivered amazing uplifting sets, including new comer to the Gospel roster and the darling of Oakland Bay area, Lena Byrd Miles who hit flawless runs and notes, that we just don’t hear too often anymore!  James Fortune and Kierra Sheard Kelly left many dancing in the aisles, while Bishop Hezekiah Walker and Pastor John P. Kee delivered back to back hits.  Twyse gave the congregation a taste of Gospel Rap while Estee Bullock delivered songs that sounded like anthems.  It was a great night to be in church.
