Shreveport, LA – The longest airing urban radio station in Shreveport, “KOKA” has been chosen Jay Williamson to takeover Sundays from 6 A. M. – 10:00 A. M.
The station plans to continue playing gospel music, reach newer generations and grow its relationship with the community. The station leadership has plans to bring a more diverse group of talent, establish a stronger relationship with the gospel music industry and the community.
Williamson will help the station achieve its new objectives. He’s a renowned voice that holds true to the sound of the church. It also carries a contemporary feeling yet carrying a traditional church approach. Williamson is known for his powerful singing and dynamic preaching. The mixture of singing and preaching has defined his voice as one that can bridge gaps between all generations. Furthermore, he was a Top 10 finalist on BET’s Sunday Best in 2014.
“In order to reach a newer generation; you have to bring in a new generation of voices,” said Charles Johnson, KOKA Director. “Jay is church, he represents the new and old school flavor of church and will give churchgoers the music they need to make it to Sunday morning service. His voice will bridge the gap as he can appreciate all generations.”
Williamson will start on KOKA 980 AM and 93.3 FM Sunday, October 6, 2019.
