After Multiple Losses Of Close Family, Rhonda Mclemore Returns With Inspiring Testimony And Stirring Single, “GOD LOVES YOU”

Some singers in Gospel music will consistently deliver a powerfully moving presentation with seemingly effortless execution and genuine poise. One of those singers is Rhonda Mclemore. Over the years, Rhonda established herself as an incredibly talented, consistent vocalist. She performed with and vocally contributed to projects by Donnie McClurkin, Kurt Carr, Yolanda Adams, Dr. Bobby Jones, John P. Kee, and many more. After suffering multiple back-to-back tragic losses of close family, including her husband of twenty-six years, noted Gospel artist Shawn Mclemore, Rhonda lost her zeal for singing.

“Depression is real, and I found myself in a dark place,” Rhonda states.  “I pushed singing to the side because it didn’t feel the same anymore. Nevertheless, my heart has always said, not my will, but Thy will be done.”

Understanding that her gift is not her own and accepting the call to continue ministering to God’s people, Rhonda returned to the microphone and has a new single, “God Loves You.”

Her new single, ‘God Loves You’, penned by Marcus Jordan and produced by Terrance Ruffin, marks a significant milestone in Rhonda’s career. It is now available on all digital platforms, released under the Marcus Jordan Music Group label.  “When Marcus presented the opportunity to sing God Loves You, I knew it was God and that the song was for me,” Rhonda explains.  “My hope is to convey to listeners that no matter where they are in life or what they’ve done, they can still receive God’s love. It’s a simple, foundational truth that can be life-changing.”

Marcus Jordan is a multiple chart-topping, award-winning artist, songwriter, and producer.  His CALL ON THE NAME album debuted at #3 on iTunes Christian/Gospel chart, with the title track soaring to #1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart. Jordan’s 2023 high-energy gospel-pop single, “Dance,” earned him his second Top 20 record on Billboard’s Gospel chart.

“When God gave me the words to the song, I immediately heard Rhonda’s voice,” Jordan states.  “I knew she could capture the emotion and overall essence of the song. The lyrics are impactful, so I knew I needed a vocal powerhouse like her to bring them to life. I am so thankful she saw the vision!”

With her renewed passion and a powerful new single, Rhonda is gearing up for a series of exciting performances. She is scheduled to grace Tom Joyner’s Fantastic Voyage from April 27 to May 4. On June 8, she will be the guest psalmist at the 20th Annual Women of Wisdom Conference in Houston, TX.  Furthermore, she will be honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award at The HER Awards 2024 on Saturday, June 1, in Houston.

Rhonda’s heart for music that glorifies God and helps transform people is evident in all she does.  She leads congregations in weekly worship while directing her praise and worship to an audience of One.  As a community advocate, Rhonda is the Brand Ambassador for Crockett & Sons Enterprises in Houston, TX.  She serves the city of Houston by registering people for Affordable Healthcare/Obama Care.  She teaches the importance of caring for our physical body as an act of gratitude to God.  Additionally, Rhonda is the C.E.O./Founder of Voss Fashions & More (V.O.S.S. –Veil of Savvy Style), a fashion boutique with a mission to redefine elegance by facilitating transformative fashion that elevates how clients see themselves.
